SD Auto Blast Gate

Nordfab manufactures ducting for use in dust, mist, and fume collection systems.

Nordfab® SD Automatic Blast Gates are operated by compressed air cylinders, controlled by electrically connected solenoid. 120V control circuit and 75psi minimum air pressure.

Optional 24V DC or AC control circuits available
Single cylinder: 3″ to 8″. Two cylinders: 9″ to 22″.

Galvanized steel construction (as shown below). Not available in SS. Refer to our Product Reference for more information.
Available with flanged ends in diameters up to 24", and other various end types

Nordfab can assist customers in designing a blast-gated system, taking into account flow dynamics that will be affected by blast gates. While blast gates can be used to effectively utilize an undersized filtering system, they can also destroy the flow if not properly placed. A. General Fabrication Requirements: Comply with SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible," Ch. 3, "Round, Oval, and Flexible Duct," based on indicated static-pressure class unless otherwise indicated.
1. Construct ducts of galvanized sheet steel unless otherwise indicated. 304SS Optional.
2. Basis-of-Design Product: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide Nordfab Ducting, LLC; Quick Fit (QF) Duct.
B. Connection Joints: Joint types are fabricated in accordance with SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible," for static-pressure class, applicable sealing requirements, materials involved, duct-support intervals, and other provisions in SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible."
1. Quick Fit Joints in Ducts 3 to 24 inches (76 to 510 mm) in diameter. Flange: Optional.
2. Flanged Joints in All Ducts Greater than 24 inches (610 mm) in diameter.
C. Longitudinal Seams: Seam types are fabricated in accordance with SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible," Figure 3-2, "Round Duct Longitudinal Seams," for static-pressure class, applicable sealing requirements, materials involved, duct-support intervals, and other provisions in SMACNA's "HVAC Duct Construction Standards - Metal and Flexible."
1. Fabricated round ducts 3 to 24 inches (76 to 510 mm) in diameter to have laser-welded or plasma-welded longitudinal seams.
2. Fabricated round ducts above 24 inches (610 mm) in diameter to have plasma-welded longitudinal seams.
