Our reputation for reliability didn’t happen overnight. Founded in Newark, New Jersey in 1937, the Silver Bros., Fred and Archie, opened a store front re-silvering and repairing silver products.  By 1945, the brothers started producing convex mirrors made of glass and in years to come introduced acrylic lenses.  In 1950, Archie sold his shares to Fred, and the company name changed to Fred Silver & Company.  With our founder Fred Silver at the helm, the company grew to offer various types of silvered glass products which provided products to the home decor, beauty, safety, optical and aerospace industries.  Fred Silver & Co., however, became most famous worldwide for our convex and dome mirrors used mainly for theft detection, traffic safety and store security.
