Without insulation the temperature on the "protected side of an access door exceed 600 degrees F endangering people and causing spontaneous ignition of anything near the access door. Milcor Universal Fire Rated Doors are insulated with super-efficient insulation to limit temperature after 30 minutes is 250 degrees F. This UL temperature rise is the best in the business. Reduced Sound Transmission, the sandwich-type insulated door panel provides the dual benefit of reduction in sound transmission through the access door. Material: Prime-painted steel or stainless steel: 14-gauge frame with 20-gauge door panel. Insulation: 2" mineral fiber insulation sandwiched between inner and outdoor panel. Finish: Steel is chemically bonded with prime coat of baked-on electrostatic powder. Stainless Steel has a satin finish. Hinge: Continuous type; steel with stainless steel pin. Automatic Panel Closer: Integrated concealed spring system furnished on all doors to be installed in walls. Strong coil spring makes door self-closing and self-latching in ceiling applications.
