Secure Start® Permeable is a multilayer reinforced synthetic underlayment for enhanced performance with shingles, tile, wood and metal roofs.

This permeable underlayment improves the life of a roof by allowing internal moisture to escape, while keeping external moisture out.

Underlayment for Shingle Roofs

A new roof requires more than just shingles. It’s a cohesive, coordinated system of 5 parts. In order of installation, they are: 1) ice & water barrier, 2) underlayment, 3) starter shingles, 4) field shingles, and 5) hip & ridge shingles.

Underlayment is installed under shingles and provides a secondary moisture barrier between the roof deck and overlying shingles.
