GXU is a side-hung roof window to be used as a craftsman's roof exit, for roof pitches between 15° and 85°. The polyurethane finish coating is to protect the strong wooden core from moisture. The window is operated with a handle in the middle of the side sash, and can be re-positioned to the opposite side. A locking device will automatically secure the sash when the sash is opened (85°). To close the sash, the gas spring in the locking device must be released. The ventilation flap on the top sash allows fresh air to enter the room through a dust and insect filter.
