Channel frame or drainage floor access doors are designed for use in exterior applications or in those situations where there is concern of water or other liquids entering the access opening. Doors are supplied with a threaded drain coupling fully welded to the channel frame for connection to a dry or wet well in the field. Products feature engineered lift assistance for easy one-hand operation and are available with reinforcing for pedestrian or H-20 wheel loading.
Uses and Applications
Floor access doors provide reliable access to equipment stored underground or below/between building floors. Floor access doors are commonly used by transit systems, electric and gas utilities, and water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Assembly and Installation
Installation of BILCO floor access doors is simply a matter of casting the door into a concrete sidewalk, vault, or structure. Doors are supplied with built anchor flanges or straps to hold the door in place once the concrete has cured. The frame and support shelf (H-20 reinforced doors) must be fully supported by concrete or steel for structural integrity.
Materials and Finishes
Floor access doors are available in either 1/4" (6.3mm) aluminum or steel construction. Type 304 stainless steel doors are also available for highly corrosive environments.
Codes and Certifications
All BILCO products are designed to provide many years of trouble-free service. Should a part fail to function in normal use within a period of twenty five (25) years [aluminum products] or five (5) years [steel products] - or longer, as indicated - from the date of purchase, a new part will be furnished at no charge.
