    Folding Door Q-Door FX

Q-Door FX is a folding door built for reliability and thermal performance. Developed and refined since 1962, it combines proven durability with strong insulation and precise engineering. Many doors installed more than 30 years ago are still in daily operation in fire stations and industrial buildings where function, reliability and durability are critical. That is a testament to Torverk’s focus on function, safety, and long-term performance.

    SECURITY & SURFACE TREATMENT

Q-Door FX is available in versions that are in compliance with SSF 1074Security Class 2 (SK2) and Security Class 3 (SK3) for enhanced perimeter protection.

You can choose from several surface treatment packages that increase resistance against harsh environments, high humidity, and coastal conditions.

    CONSTRUCTION & INSULATION

Each door leaf is formed from 0.6 mm corrosion-protected steel sheet from SSAB, roll-bent into shape for a rigid and durable construction.

The panel is filled with polyurethane foam under 4.5 bar pressure. The foam expands, penetrates all cavities, and bonds chemically to the steel sheets and end profiles.

Once hardened, the foam becomes as solid as a hockey puck and insulates four times better than typical house insulation.

All seals are made from durable EPDM rubber, which remains soft and tight even in cold climates.

Optional gas-insulated windows with thermal breaks are available in any size or number.

wicket door can be added as an option.

    A standard 5 x 5 m door without windows or wicket door has a U-value of 0.90 W/m²K and a T-value of 1 m³/h per m².

    SIZE & OPERATION

Each Q-Door FX is custom-built to the exact millimetre of your opening.

A motorised Q-Door FX can be up to 14.5 m wide and 6 m high.

Available as inward- or outward-opening models, with two different drive systems that can be mounted either besideor above the door, depending on available space.

Our proprietary motor has been tested for 2,000,000 cycles.

The door can be fully or partially automated to improve logistics and minimise energy loss.

    Specification
    • SIZE & PANEL DIVISION

To ensure the best insulation and minimal air leakage, each door is precisely adapted to your specific opening.

      • Width: 2,4 m – 7 m
      • Height: up to 6 m
      • Panel thickness: 56 mm
      • Panel material: 0.6 mm SSAB Greencoat® steel with C5 corrosion class and bio-based coating. The sheet is bent for maximum rigidity.
      • Core: High-density polyurethane foam, chemically bonded to all components. Each cubic centimetre contains tens of thousands of gas-filled cells that block heat and cold transfer.
      • Panel configurations: 0+4, 1+3, 2+2, 3+1, 4+0
      • Wicket door: Minimum threshold height 130 mm. Maximum door width = section width minus 340 mm. Available for SK2 and SK3.
      • Windows: Gas-insulated, with thermal breaks.
        • Max total window area (motorised): 43% of panel surface
        • Max window width = section width minus 300 mm
        • Min spacing between rows: 200 mm
        • SK2 models can include windows; SK3 cannot.

      PERFORMANCE

      • Expected service life: 30 years
      • Wind load resistance: Class 5
      • Water tightness: Class 2 or 3 (depending on configuration)
      • Opening speed: ~0.25 m/s (depends on door width)

      PANEL STRUCTURE

The door consists of four panels and can be configured with 0, 2, or 4 panels on either side:

      • 0+4
      • 1+3
      • 2+2
      • 3+1
      • 4+0

      SURFACE, CORROSION PROTECTION & INSULATION

Each 56 mm panel is clad with SSAB Greencoat® 0.6 mm steelC5 corrosion class, and bio-based coating. The bent sheet provides torsional stiffness, and the panel core of high-density foam offers excellent insulation.

      • Best U-value (individual panel): ~0.22 W/m²K
      • U-value (example 5x5 m door): 0.90 W/m²K
      • T-value (example):
        • Motorised: 0.9 m³/h per m²
        • Manual: 1.5 m³/h per m²

If you want another color we can coat your door with any of the 10 million colors in the NCS- and RAL-systems.
